Russian opposition parties held anti-government demonstration in Moscow today. Opposition leaders and their supporters were demanding resignation of the Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov and urging the citizens of Russia to boycott regional elections.
The opposition leaders addressed the supporters and called upon them not to vote for the ruling party in the regional elections, which are held in Russia today.
Over three thousand constituencies were opened at 8 a.m. throughout Russia today; the polls will be over at 8 p.m. exactly.
Six political parties run in the regional elections. The preliminary results of the polls will be announced tomorrow morning, while final official results will be published on October 14.
