The U.S. Ambassador to Georgia: Demonstrators include some people who are trying to stir up violent confrontation

Demonstrators include some people who are trying to stir up violent confrontation, US Ambassador John Bass told journalists.

Any democratic society is obliged to defend the freedom of speech and expression, though it is also important the protests not to violate rights of other people, not to hamper others in their activities, movement and even celebration of significant days.

John Bass expressed worry over the fact that demonstrators, which are on the streets today, include some people who are trying to escalate the situation and cause confrontation.

The Ambassador said this impeded peaceful implementation of their demands, and in addition, it was decreasing trust of society.
